Tired and sad.

I know I said I would post every Sunday... but I took a whole lotta pictures in California this weekend. Therefore, I need to upload, edit, and sort through them before I can put them up. I also need to unpack, sleep, and be sad that I can no longer look at the ocean or kiss my hubby. I'm gonna work on all of those things tonight I will post tomorrow, I promise. If I don't- you can take this blog off of your favorites bar and you never have to look at it again.

Much love.

Busy week.

I only have a few minutes to update but I'm gonna do my best to fill you in on the eventful week we had.

First off, I got a job working for the City of Hurst! I start tomorrow and I'm so psyched! I love working with people and I can't think of a better way to do it than checking them in so they can work out at the rec. This will be such a great way for me to be in the community and love on everyone God puts in my path. It will definitely be a fun environment and I think that's just what I need right now.

This week was week one of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I couldn't move much the majority of the week but I took the weekend off so I'm starting to be able to lift my arms again. I'll start back up again tomorrow... dangit.

Also, I got to talk to Scott a lot this weekend while he was on liberty. He is doing good. He misses home and being dry. Apparently it has been raining non-stop there, so pray that they get some relief from that. Some of the Marines are really struggling but Scott has been able to spend some time talking with and encouraging those guys. Hopefully they are all able to make it through the week. They have a 5K hump (hike) on Tuesday and a weapons test on Thursday. Scott asked me to pray that he finishes first and makes a 100 on the test... he's so hardcore.

In other news, I am going to California this weekend! Scott and I are both very ready to spend time together, especially in the beautiful San Diego. We want to go to the zoo, and the beach, and both bases, and LA, and San Deigo... we'll just have to see how much we can squeeze in. For you guys this means my post next week will be very fun and filled with pictures, woohoo!

Sorry I don't have much time to update. If this just wasn't enough to satisfy your Gilchrist fix feel free to look my cooking adventures of the week. I'm getting pretty good, if I do say so myself...

I'll leave you with a couple exclusive wedding pictures:

Have a great week, love y'all!

Exhaustion

As most of you know, the past couple months have just been a complete whirlwind. And I am bummed that they had to go by so quickly. I'm going to attempt to get my thoughts and emotions in order by doing a little recap of events. Hopefully this will slow things down a bit so that we can really see all that has happened in the past 60 days.

Here we go:

November 17th- Fly out to California.

November 18th- Meet and greet with the other boot camp families.

November 19th- Family day at MCRD. See (and talk to) Scott for the first time in 3 months!!

November 20th- Scott graduates from boot camp!

Later on November 20th- Fly back to Texas.

November 21st- Stare at my new Marine all day long.

November 22nd- Drive with Scott to Oklahoma to see family.

November 23rd- Drive with Scott and cousins to Kansas to "the ranch".

November 24th- Scott proposes to me and we are engaged!

November 25th- I jump up and down all day long.

November 26th- Thanksgiving/Austin's birthday.

November 27th- Scott shoots his first buck!

November 29th- Drive 8 hours back to Texas from Kansas. Scott promises me that there is no way we're getting married in the 45 days he's on leave...

November 30th- Start planning showers and parties and wedding with friends. And Scott has his first day working as a recruiter's assistant.

December 1st- Pioneer Woman's book signing!

December 2nd-10th- Scott's working and I'm planning our spring wedding and everything that goes along with that. In our free time, we're moving me home from Arlington and fixing up my parents back house so that we'll have a place to live. With the help of our sweet, sweet friends.

December 11th- We realize that the smart thing to do would be to get married before he leaves for training.

December 12th- We decide to get married on December 26th.

December 13th- We realize that's in 2 weeks; and we all freak out and start running around trying to get things done.

December 15th- My first wedding dress session.

December 16th- Pick out my dress at Elizabeth's Bridal! Nicest ladies ever.

December 17th- Order cakes from Society Bakery and Cookies By Design.

December 21st- Go look at beautiful room that the Humphrey's let us use for free to get married in.

December 22nd- Pick out decorations.

December 23rd- Bachelorette party! And bachelor party! (But I guess boys don't think to take pictures.)

December 24th- Pick up wedding cupcakes and grooms cookie cake.

December 25th- Merry Christmas!

December 26th- Wedding day!

December 27th and 28th- "Honeymoon" at a B&B in Granbury, TX. http://www.pomhouse.com/

December 29th- Alumni soccer game

December 31st- Got cards changed and banks changed.

January 1st- New Years Day!

January 2nd- Scott said goodbyes to friends.

January 3rd- Packed all his stuff.

January 4th- He was on a plane to California.

Currently, he's still in California for training. I'm staying at my parents house until March when we find out where he will be stationed. Then I will move where ever that is (hopefully either North Carolina or California) and we will get to be newlyweds.

Exhausted? I am.

I'm gonna go take a nap now.

Hello family and friends and blogger world!

I'm going to be honest, I have recently become addicted to finding and reading cool blogs. It's mostly people I don't know and won't ever know but people that have incredibly interesting ideas/stories/jobs/families/lives. It's a little creepy, I know. But it's oh so intriguing and I could literally spend hours doing it. One day, while keeping up with the lives of the many strangers that I follow on websites like this one, I had a great idea: "Why don't I make Scott and I our very own blog! One with pictures and updates that can tell our one thousand best friends and family members what's going on in our newly married lives!". Genius idea, I know. And because we will be moving and deploying and setting out on this great adventure together it will be a wonderful way to keep all of you guys up to date on the latest excitement that we're going through!

I plan on sharing the story of our engagement, in detail, for those of you who haven't heard it. Posting pictures of our quaint little wedding that happened a couple weekends ago. Letting you know where Scott is and what he's doing there. Updating you on what I'm doing to keep busy while he's gone. And anything else that pops up along the way. I promise this will be an interesting and informative read for you and anyone else who you'd like to get in on it.

My main goal here is to keep in touch. I realize that with coming and going and moving things can get pretty hectic. But I hope that this will be a way to not lose contact with anyone who we care about. That said, if any of you have news to share please email us! Or text us! Or tweet us! Or facebook us! Or mail us! Or call us! Whatever it takes. We'd love to hear from you.

So, are you as excited as I am? I sure hope so. I will get on later this week and do my first official entry about what's going on now.

We love all of you, we really do.
